Newborn sessions are held in Kirsten's home studio, located in Gold Coast’s northern suburbs, and images are captured using natural window light and various studio lighting techniques.

Sessions last from 2-3.5 hours, allowing ample time for a variety of studio set-ups, as well as the important things like feeding, settling and cuddling.  

 

Newborns are best photographed in the first two weeks, generally around 10 days old, as this is when they are easily settled, often sleeping and therefore most comfortable during sessions. All newborn babies are different and some settle easier than others so please do not be disappointed if bub doesnt settle much during your session, Kirsten will ensure that there are still beautiful photos captured from your session.

Kirsten generally books out a few weeks in advance, so it is recommended you contact her to book your newborn session as soon as possible.  If time is available in the calendar, Kirsten will always do her best to accommodate new enquiries where she can.

 

A few items to bring along with you include a water bottle, snacks, baby moisturiser, spare nappies and wipes. A pacifier/dummy is also requested to be brought along to your session, even if you don't plan on using one at home, it will help settle bub during the transitions of sets. Where possible please bring your newborn to the session in lose fitting clothing that doesn't mark the skin or leave indentations. All props including blankets, beanies, bonnets, wraps, throws and headbands are sourced from the finest local and international suppliers and are available for your session.  If you have sentimental items such as knitted blankets, special clothing items or hats you would like included in your images, please bring them along to your session and Kirsten will make every effort to incorporate them into your session.

 

Kirsten’s studio includes a comfortable lounge area where you can settle in, relax and enjoy watching your little one’s first professional photoshoot.

If you are interested in booking, please contact Kirsten with your estimated due date and tentatively schedule a session for your newborn.  Once your baby arrives, contact Kirsten as soon as convenient and she will lock in a session time at her soonest availability.

As this is a business run from our home residence we request that visits are by appointment only, please contact us before calling in.

Newborn gallery wait times are estimated between 2-4 weeks. You will receive a link via pm or email and will be able to select your favourite images to order. Payment plans are available.

All images are copyright Kirsten Lea Photography. It is illegal to copy, scan, alter in any way including cropping and removal of watermark or reproduce without permission. Select images will be chosen for website and promotional purposes.

(1) Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. (2) Payment for photography sessions is due in advance and payment for prints, electronic media and other goods is due upon delivery, unless stated otherwise. (3) Payment can be made by cheque or direct bank deposit. (4) Reasonable efforts will be made to supply the goods and services in accordance with any timeframes or specifications described above. (5) Kirsten Lea reserves all moral rights in works resulting from the services (“Works”), and will have a perpetual, royalty free licence to use the Works for advertising and promotional purposes. (6) You hereby irrevocably release and discharge Kirsten Lea from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the Works, including any claims based on defamation, copyright, privacy or right of publicity. You give the same release on behalf of any other person who appears in the Works. (7) To the extent permitted by law, Kirsten Lea’s liability in connection with the goods is limited to replacement of the goods or supply of equivalent goods or paying the cost of replacing the goods or acquiring equivalent goods, and in connection with the services is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again. (8) Your personal information may be collected and used for the purpose of supplying the goods and services and exercising the rights under point (5), and disclosed to agents and contractors for these purposes. You can gain access to the personal information held about you by contacting Kirsten Lea. (9) Your payment or instruction to supply the goods and services is your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
